DPP 60 Modifications

Post  Sticks on Mon Mar 16, 2009 10:41 pm

Alrighty then....I have made a few mods
- Split the fire box and smoke chamber
- Added pipes for Stoker
- hieghtened the firebox trays
The goal was to be able to cook on 2/3 rds of the smoker at one time and cook at different temps and to go for a longer burn time.

Results - success, I can cook on the larger side and use half the fuel, I am burning 50/50 wood and charcoal and will probably stick with 75/25 wood / charcoal. I can cook on just one side and go 3-4 hours on a burn, I can cook one side at 240 and the other at 275-300 (chicken time)

I will take some more detailed pics in a few weeks.

Here is the pipe for the stoker, I have a pipe for both sides of the fire box

Higher Firebox tray

Here are several from the smoke box with the plate that was put in.

Here is the stoker on the large chamber. It is a 25 cfm fan.
